Who’s Back?

As for which names are back, who are some of the top returning players for the Jayhawks in 2022-23?

Jalen Wilson

Likely the biggest name returning for the Jayhawks this season is that of Wilson, a redshirt junior who led Kansas in rebounding a year ago, while also ranking third in scoring. A two-year starter for the Jayhawks, Wilson averaged 11.1 PPG and 7.4 RPG a year ago across 37 games, receiving Third Team All-Big 12 honors in the process.

Dajuan Harris Jr

Starting in 39-of-40 games a year ago for the Jayhawks at point guard, Harris also returns for his fourth season in Lawrence in 2022-23. A Big 12 All-Defense selection a year ago, Harris averaged a combined 5.4 PPG, 4.2 APG, and 1.5 SPG at the helm of the Jayhawks offense.

Joseph Yesufu

After transferring from Drake prior to last season, Yesufu would play a role on the Jayhawks bench a year ago, and is likely to see that role increase in 2022-23. Averaging 9.3 MPG across 34 games, Yesufu averaged a combined 2.1 PPG on 33.8% shooting from the field.

Zach Clemence, KJ Adams Jr, Bobby Pettiford Jr & Cam Martin

The trio of Clemence, Adams, and Pettiford each return for their sophomore seasons in Lawrence this year, with all three having seen a limited amount of action a year ago. Clemence averaged 2.1 PPG and 1.8 RPG on 4.9 MPG, while Adams and Pettiford both averaged a little over a point per game. Martin, a senior, redshirted a year ago.
