10. Providence Friars – +3400 to win the Big East

If you were a Friar supporter a year ago, congratulations on your huge win. They had little hope of being the best team in the Big East and yet became arguably the biggest surprise not named Iowa State in all of NCAA Basketball, winning the regular-season title. They have a new-look roster, led by returning guard Jared Bynum and five new transfers.

Two of the newcomers are South Carolina transfer Devin Carter and Bryce Hopkins, sophomores that have All-Big East potential for Providence. It’s a roster that could make a run once again in the Big East if everything can work out.

Another factor is the two favorites in the Big East, a young Creighton team and a Villanova program with a new head coach (Kyle Neptune) and multiple key pieces currently injured (Cam Whitmore and Justin Moore). If the Wildcats struggle this year with the new pieces and leader and the sophomores for the Bluejays don’t have those big breakout seasons, the conference is wide open for a team like Providence to make back-to-back shocking runs.
