We’re just a week before the start of the 2022-23 NCAA Basketball and based on the injuries that keep piling up, it can’t come soon enough. And we’ve had several interesting exhibition and scrimmage results that although doesn’t count for anything, give us more info to digest when it comes to certain players to watch.

They’re definitely teams to watch as well when it comes to who could potentially win a national title. To put it into better terms, there are some that are flying a bit under the radar that could win you some money if you bet on them now.

This piece is about which NCAA Basketball teams you should consider placing a wager on before the start of the upcoming season. Using the odds from FanDuel Sportsbook as the source, here are five programs you definitely should think about.

5. Texas Tech Red Raiders – +4000

The odds are a bit lower after the injury suffered by Utah Valley transfer Fardaw Aimaq, who is out for the first couple of months of the season. But they should survive with Daniel Batcho as his replacement at center. They’re good everywhere else, led by returning forward Kevin Obanor, as well as Oregon transfer guard DeVion Harmon.

There are plenty of athletes on the wings that can defend and shoot, including transfers,  D’maurian Williams and Kerwin Walton, as well as former top-40 prospect, Jaylon Tyson. The potential on defense could be in the top 5 once again, while a healthy Aimaq and Obanor have tremendous offensive potential since both ca n space the floor. If Harmon of freshman ball-handler Pop Isaacs can run the backcourt efficiently and consistently, Texas Tech can be a darkhorse team to make a deep run.
