NCAA Basketball: Pros and cons of No. 1 recruit Isaiah Collier final 4 options
When looking at the 2023 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, there have been a few players that have at one point been ranked No. 1 overall. For a while, it was actually power forward GG Jackson, who was at one point committed to North Carolina. However, he made the decision to reclassify and join South Carolina this upcoming season.
Other players that have been in consideration for the top spot include combo guard DJ Wagner, small forward and Kentucky commit Justin Edwards, and Michigan State center commit Xavier Booker, who had a meteoric rise this past offseason in the recruiting rankings towards the top.
Right now though, the player that’s No. 1 in several recruiting services is Isaiah Collier, a 6’3 point guard out of Marietta, Georgia. He’s a true ball-handler and facilitator, while also fitting the modern-day playmaker that can score at a high level. Collier’s measurables and physical tools give him the ability to be a two-way star not only at the NCAA Basketball level but potentially in the NBA as well.
The five-star guard has had four programs to choose from for a few months now in Michigan, Cincinnati, USC, and UCLA. And what’s interesting is that at some point in this process, all of them have been viewed as the favorite to land Collier. And now, a decision is coming soon, with the prospect deciding on November 16th, two weeks from now.
A lot has happened since the list of four has been created. And some options may have either looked better or worse since then. Here’s another look at the pros and cons for Collier and the four finalists.
