NCAA Basketball: Pros and cons of No. 1 recruit Isaiah Collier final 4 options
USC Trojans
Pros
The Trojans on the national level as their city rivals, UCLA but they’re still a fairly notable NCAA Basketball program that has consistently made the NCAA Tournament. And they also have space for Collier in the future, since both Boogie Ellis and Drew Peterson will be gone after this season.
They have four-star guard commit Silas Demary, Jr. in the 2023 class, along with four-star forward and Collier’s high school teammate, Arrinten Page. With Kajani Wright and hopefully, a healthy and cleared Vincent Iwuchukwu in the frontcourt, there would be plenty of talent for the five-star playmaker to work with.
Cons
USC is a solid program and the Pac-12 is a solid conference but is that what Collier is aiming for? The Trojans will be young as well a year from now and with some unproven pieces. And if the freshmen class isn’t as good as advertised, it could be a rough first-year for Collier.
If he was set to play for USC for multiple years, I could see this being the top option. But for one season, there are some flaws with the Trojans, including a head coach in Andy Enfield that may be the worst of the four, although he’s “solid in his own right.
