It’s hard to think that the college basketball season is a week old already. The first week started slow but is going to end with a bang as the week was backloaded with all of the great games between two power five schools. So far over this week, we have seen a game on an aircraft carrier, a game at a major league baseball stadium, and countless upsets.

One team that I was extremely high on coming into the season was a victim of one of those huge upsets. On Friday night Colorado Basketball was upset when they traveled to Grambling from the SWAC conference. Grambling was able to beat the Buffaloes and leave them reeling heading into a huge game on Sunday afternoon.

Colorado travels to Nashville to take on Tennessee at 1 PM CST. The beauty of college basketball is that there are usually short turnaround times, which means that teams need to have a short memory because the next game is coming up quickly. The Pac-12 has not shown well so far in the first week and with the game in Knoxville, the Buffs will have their work cut out for him but if the early results have told us anything it’s expect the unexpected. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. Especially the way this year is going.

The Buffaloes have to regroup and get ready to play one of the best teams in the country. The Volunteers are currently ranked number 11 in the country and have turned into one of the annual powers in the south and in the SEC. Tennessee is going to present a unique set of challenges for the Buffaloes but head coach Tad Boyle is going to have his team ready to play and to go into battle. Colorado has their work cut out for them but if they can do the following three things they will have a chance to keep this game a lot closer than Tennessee wants.
