14. Auburn (8-0)

They’ve taken care of business as they’ve needed and the Tigers remain unblemished four weeks into the new season. Auburn is one of the best programs in the SEC, and we’re not just talking about this year’s squad. However, our focus is on this year’s team and they aren’t exactly infallible; they’re simply doing what they need to do against a schedule that’s a bit weaker than some of these other top teams.

This past week’s only outing came at home against Colgate back on Friday night, with the Tigers earning a 93-66 win. Auburn’s finest offensive performance of the season saw K.D. Johnson lead the way with 16 points off the bench. Johni Broome had 13 points and 9 rebounds while the Tigers made quick work of a pretty solid Colgate squad.

Auburn is 8-0; this is the most important thing to take away. Unfortunately, it hasn’t always been pretty for the Tigers. They struggled offensively at times (scoring just 43 against Northwestern), but the defense has been top-notch to this point. We’ll have to keep a closer eye on this Auburn team in the coming weeks, with tough matchups against Memphis and USC looming before SEC play begins at the end of the month. For now, Auburn is perfect, albeit far from perfect on the court.
