Both programs would have hoped to have more wins at this point in the season but both schools have overall, played some highly talented teams thus far at this point in the season.
Michigan State and Michigan both have five wins and some quality losses against quadrant one and two teams. The Spartans have wins against Kentucky and Oregon on a neutral court and the Wolverines defeated Pitt on a neutral court as well. Both teams have close losses to ranked teams as Michigan State lost on an aircraft carrier to Gonzaga by one and Michigan lost to Virginia by two and Kentucky by four. Both teams can still get some quality wins in December and especially in January when conference play is in full swing.
