Atlantic 10 Basketball: George Mason, Fordham rise in latest power rankings

#2. UMass (8-2)
This spot was a tough one, but I’m giving it to the Minutemen because of their many solid wins and lack of ugly losses. They’ve just been incredibly steady between winning Myrtle Beach and going 4-0 on neutral ground and 2-0 on the road. Noah Fernandes is the “star,” but this team is all about depth.
Matt Cross, RJ Luis, Tafara Gapare, Dyondre Dominguez are just a few of the other guys that might be the best player on any given night. Enormous game with possible post-season implications against North Texas (66th in NET) this coming weekend.
#1. Saint Louis (7-4)
Though relatively disappointing overall, the Bills have two of the best non-con wins in the league over Providence and Memphis, and they are yet to lose to anyone below 58th on KenPom. Getting clobbered by Iona was a bad look, but the upside for SLU is still too much for any of the solid-but-not-great teams below them to compete with right now.
Yuri Collins has been incredible running point and is unsurprisingly leading the country in assists; now it’s time for Javonte Perkins and Gibson Jimerson to really get going on the wings and make this the Bills team that we thought it would be.
