On Saturday, Hubert Davis and North Carolina Basketball made a statement against the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Led by senior Armando Bacot’s 21 points, the Tarheels exhibited toughness in pulling away for a 17-point victory in front of their fans at the Dean E. Smith Center.

After enduring an ugly four-game losing streak earlier in the season, the Tarheels have now won six out of their last seven games and look poised to regain the confidence that led them all the way to the National Championship Game last season. North Carolina’s ability to whether adversity can be attributed to the amount of veteran experience they have on their team; the roster features six seniors which are abnormal in today’s climate of early departure and the transfer portal.

After suffering an early season four-game losing streak, The North Carolina Tarheels will have to play great basketball to upset The Virginia Cavaliers.

The Tarheels’ next opponent is the Virginia Cavaliers, who are off to an impressive 11 and 3 start. They are currently ranked 11th in the nation and are the favorites heading into the Tuesday night showdown between the two ACC powerhouses. Like North Carolina, Virginia has six seniors on its roster; their veteran leadership is not to be underestimated. If the Tarheels are going to emerge victorious, they’ll have to do so against a team that is not intimidated by the experience on their roster or the mystique of their program’s history.

Between Armando Bacot, Caleb Love, and RJ Davis, the Tarheels have the veteran leadership and the offensive firepower to pull off the upset. Let’s take a closer look at the steps they must take in order to get the job done.
