3. Who is your prediction for Conference Player of the Year? Possible runner-up?

Bernstein

Daron Holmes II is the clear favorite for Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year. The sophomore guard is averaging 19.0 points per game, 8.4 rebounds, and shooting 60.1 percent for the first-place Dayton Flyers. He currently sits third in the Atlantic 10 for points, rebounds, and field goal percentage. Holmes II is in second place for blocks, averaging 2.0 per game, behind Fordham’s Abdou Tsimbila.

A possible runner-up for the honor is George Washington’s James Bishop IV. The senior guard is leading the conference averaging 22.1 points per game, which is the fifth-best in the nation. He currently ranks third in the conference in assists per game, averaging 5.0. He recently led the Colonials over the Loyola Chicago Ramblers with 40 points and seven assists.

Cronin

DaRon Holmes II. The Dayton big man has gotten back to being a dominant force in the last month and the Flyers have established themselves as the clear favorites. The lone two players who can catch him are Yuri Collins and Tyler Burton, the stars of the only other teams that have a chance to win the league.

Leddecke

Player of the Year has to be DaRon Holmes and I don’t expect any competitors to make it particularly interesting. Runner-up is a tough question, but I’ll say Foster Loyer because I still have a lot of faith in Davidson.
