Nebraska Basketball: 3 keys for Cornhuskers to win against Penn State
By Bryan Mauro
There is nothing quite like Big Ten Basketball on a Saturday in January. I know that every conference would say the exact same thing. This season though there truly is nothing like Big Ten basketball. Outside of the great team in Purdue and the bad team in Minnesota, the rest of the league is extremely competitive. There have not been many blowouts and every team has its flaws. Most fans can not wait to tune in to see what type of weird finish each game is going to have. Every game in the league has had a story that we could all talk about for days.
Penn State and Nebraska face off in an important game for both teams. Nebraska is having its best season under current head coach Fred Hoiberg and has a real chance to play in its first postseason tournament under coach Hoiberg. Nebraska needs some more wins and they are going to have to win some games on the road. Penn State is currently a bubble team, they don’t have too many bad losses, but also do not have many great wins. They are a team who is going to need to protect homecourt.
The stage is set for a hard-fought game on Saturday. Nebraska is going to be at a disadvantage on the offensive end and overall as Penn State has more talent and Nebraska is dealing with some injuries. The Huskers are not a team that should be slept on though as they are adept on the defensive end and are very comfortable slowing the game way down. There are three things that the Huskers can do to ensure they win this game and get a giant resume-boosting win that will look good in March.
