10. Marquette Golden Eagles – 16-5 (8-2 Big East)

It was a strong week for the Eagles, who took on a ranked Providence team on Wednesday in one of the games of the week. Marquette, who was at home, took a solid early lead and managed to hold on for an 83-75 victory. Kameron Jones had 21 points on 4/8 shooting from deep, while guard Tyler Kolek chipped in with 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

The Golden Eagles then went on the road to take on a Seton Hall squad that has been playing better as of late. Both teams and head coaches are known for playing strong defenses so there was a chance that the final score would end up in the 50s.

It did for one team, as the Pirates managed just 53 points in a 21-point defeat. Jones once again led the team with 22 points on 5/9 shooting from three-point range, while forward Oso Ighodaro finished with 18 points and six rebounds on a perfect 7/7 shooting from the field.

The Golden Eagles are now tied with Xavier on top of the Big East with eight wins and have a chance to be in first place in a couple of weeks. They take on three of the bottom teams in the league up next in DePaul, Butler, and Villanova.
