In seven weeks it will be selection Sunday and hopefully, we will see many of the players who have been listed on the Busting Brackets Player of the Week. This week the NCAA Basketball Player of the Week rankings was a tightly contested battle. There were so many players who had huge individual performances last week and they are all going to be highlighted below.
For all of the new readers to the Player of the Week article, there are some things that we should discuss. The below sections are going to contain the nominees for both the Mid Major and the Power 6 conferences. I then pick five players from the nominees who are the finalists. I will pick a winner from those five players. That winner will be listed as the Busting Brackets Player of the Week for this week.
There are no certain criteria that I used to determine who is going to be nominated and who the five finalists will be. I watch a lot of the games and I have watched a lot of the tape from the games played in the previous weeks though it is pretty easy to determine who the player of the week nominees was. Most of them are going to be the guys who had the high-scoring games but they were guys who stood out for their huge individual performances. Team performances do not have any effect on the nominees for the award. The nominees for the mid-majors and the power 6 are below.
