We’re at the end of the month in NCAA Basketball and not too many weeks away from Selection Sunday. This was an interesting week in particular as it was the last set of non-conference games that doesn’t include independents, Hartford, and Chicago State.

The annual Big 12/SEC Challenge was a nice change of pace in NCAA Basketball, which features 10 teams from two of the top conferences in the sport. The matchups may have been predetermined before the start of the season but it still provided some fun battles on Saturday with plenty of consequences.

One of them was Kentucky on the road against Kansas. It was a big opportunity for them to not only get a signature win for their Bracketology resume but also get a fifth win in a row. It would’ve been enough to get a spot in the top 25 for this week but unfortunately, couldn’t get it done in a defeat. There were other key results from this series of games that will have an impact on the overall rankings.

The Wildcats weren’t the only team that couldn’t put itself into a position for success. There were others, such as Auburn, UConn, Duke, and Miami that suffered losses to fall out of the top-25 power rankings for this week. Who else also lost and which programs found themselves on the list? And is there a new No. 1 team?

Here are my updated national rankings through all of Saturday’s results.
