NCAA Basketball: Western Illinois and Gonzaga represent Players of the Week

This time next week the calendar will read February and that means that the NCAA Basketball season has entered the last full month. Every game will be magnified, every player is going to take their game to the next level with the hopes of improving a seed line or getting their team into the tournament all together. It is the best time of year for all college hoops fans. The players on the floor were starting to feel that over the last week, a new Player of the Week award needs to be handed out.

There were a lot of players who had huge games this week but two players stood out among all of the great performances. If you are new to this article I will select one player from all of the mid-major conferences who stood out among his peers to win the player of the week. I will also select one player for the Power 6 conferences who stood out among his peers to win the player of the week. If you had been paying attention over this week to the games the players selected are going to make a lot of sense.

The format for this article has changed again. I used to give you the list of all the players and some of their achievements, then I would pick the five nominees and give a little blurb about those players before picking the winner. I have decided to cut out all of that and just get down to who won the player of week in each level. The players who had the best week this week are below.
