We’ve reached the point in this Big Ten Basketball season where nothing is decided outside of the No. 1 team, and who is at the bottom, although there have been some questions about who are the worst teams in the league.

From a Bracketology standpoint, only two teams are officially eliminated from the at-large conversation 14. That leaves 12 with the potential of making the NCAA Tournament, which would be a record since the 11 they sent just recently. Of course, that’s not the projected field, as the number stands anywhere between 8-10 for the Big Ten.

What’s going to be interesting is how the Selection Committee deals with teams on the bubble in this league that goes around 10-10, and half of them are on pace to do so. Through 10 games played, seven teams are either 6-5 or 5-5 in conference play, with Michigan State right in the middle with a 6-5 record.

The regular season title chase may not be as exciting, as the Purdue Boilermakers are the lone team with fewer than three losses. But even they aren’t without flaws and near-defeats in the past couple of weeks. There’s plenty of positioning to be decided when it comes to who will get a double-bye in the upcoming conference tournament, as well as who’ll end up playing in the first round.

Here’s the latest look at the Big Ten Basketball power rankings, including some surprises in the top tier of the league.
