We’re entering the month of February and the final month of the 2022-23 NCAA Basketball regular season. In what’s been called a year where there are “no great teams”, it feels as if everyone still has a shot to win the national title. And after Alabama lost to Oklahoma in the Big 12/SEC Challenge and Gonzaga recently fell at home to LMU, anyone can lose at any time this year.

However, there are some teams that aren’t good options to win six straight games in the NCAA Tournament. Whether you’re a betting person or just like to fill out a bracket, here are the 10 programs guaranteed not to win a national championship (done in alphabetical order).

Arizona Wildcats

After losing Pac-12 Player of the Year Bennedict Mathurin and Defensive Player of the Year Christian Koloko, the Wildcats were supposed to take a step back. But with Azuloas Tubelis looking like an All-American and Oumar Ballo exceeding all expectations, they have arguably the best frontcourt in all of NCAA Basketball.

The issue for them isn’t on the inside but rather on the outside. Starting guard Kerr Kriisa remains inconsistent, capable of shooting Arizona in and out of games. With the frontcourt they have, the backcourt doesn’t even have to do too much for them to win but they already have three losses in Pac-12 play to Washington State, Oregon, and Utah.

Those are three teams with frontcourts that can at least put up a fight against Arizona and if better teams can neutralize that, they can beat them. Coach Tommy Lloyd has done a great job with this team and they’re capable of beating anyone on a neutral floor. But I don’t see this team capable of beating six straight teams to win a national title, even if they end up with a one seed.
