Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers were arguably the biggest Bracketology winner last week, thanks to beating No. 1 Purdue. They were able to follow it up with a home win over Rutgers, 66-60 in what ended up being a Quad 1 victory. Trayce Jackson-Davis continues his All-American campaign with 20 points and 18 rebounds, while Miller Kopp chipped in with 18 on 4/6 shooting.

Indiana then had to go on the road and take on a Michigan squad who needed the win just to get back onto the bubble. They showed the desperation early, getting a double-digit lead. But the Hoosiers slowly and surely climbed back into the game and took the lead in the final minutes to come out with the 62-61 victory. Jackson-Davis went for 28 points in the comeback effort.

This is three straight Quad 1 wins for Indiana, who is now 5-6 overall. And with Purdue and Xavier as “signature” victories and no bad losses at all, this is a resume that should be in the 3-4 seed range. If they keep winning, having won 8 of 9 games, it’ll be hard to keep them out.

Indiana has another road game this week, taking on the Northwestern Wildcats. After that is a home rematch versus Illinois in a game of arguably the two best teams not named Purdue in the Big Ten.
