NCAA Basketball: Kansas and Baylor rise, Tennessee falls in latest top 25 power ranking
By Joey Loose
We’re in the middle of February and are quickly approaching March Madness, meaning the NCAA basketball is flying right by before our eyes. That NCAA Tournament will be quite the treat, especially if what we’ve seen this season continues. In the last three months, we have seen breakthrough performances, epic matchups, and a ton of memorable moments for programs both big and small.
Even after all we’ve seen, the best is still yet to come. The final weeks of conference play decide critical seeding for the conference tournaments. Hundreds of colleges are playing for their postseason hopes in the weeks ahead, while other teams are jockeying for position either as bubble teams or in quests for high Tournament seeds. All in all, there’s intrigue around the nation, with just as much excitement in an elite-level Big 12 as in one of the mid-major leagues.
Our attention today is more towards those Big 12-type programs, as we’ll be giving our updated rankings of the Top 25 teams in the nation. This has become a difficult task the further we’ve gotten into the season, especially with so many of these ranked teams playing each other in recent weeks. Still, we’ve done our best and have quite the level of talent and intrigue among the 25 teams in today’s rankings.
Even the teams that just missed the cut have reason for optimism, a list that this week includes Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, NC State, and several others. Without further ado, we’ll get right into the marathon of teams, working our way toward this week’s top dog.
