Maryland Terrapins

The Terrapins had just one game this week but it was the biggest of the season for them, a home battle with Purdue. Even with their recent skid, we know that they’re a 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament and a massive resume-boosting opportunity.

It didn’t look as if Maryland would get that win at first, trailing in the first half and early in the second by almost double figures. But they managed to go on a 29-4 run after a tech was called on a Purdue player, ultimately running away with the victory.

The final score was 68-54, led by 20 points from Jahmir Young and 10 points and nine rebounds from Julian Reese. It was the 4th Quad 1 victory for the Terrapins of the season and raised its NET ranking inside the top 20. They’ve been flying under the radar as of late but have won 6 of 7 games and now has a resume comparable to Illinois and Indiana, who are on the 3-5 seed lines.

Maryland looks to continue working on its resume this upcoming week, taking on Nebraska and Minnesota. Neither win will do much to boost their metrics but assuming they win, could benefit from others losing and not have to worry about that.
