Throughout the season, teams are going to have their ups and downs when it comes to winning and losing streaks. But a losing streak in the month of February is tough, especially when it comes to Bracketology and overall resume purposes. For teams like Tennessee, they can easily withstand going 0-2 the week prior because they were a top seed at that point.

But for those on the bubble, it can be very difficult to survive a lot of losses as of late. There are several teams that have gone from fairly safe to either in potential or serious danger. Here’s a look at eight programs that have gone through some turbulence and what they need to do in order to make the NCAA Tournament.

Auburn Tigers

The Tigers had a solid non-conference but didn’t do a ton from a resume standpoint, with just wins over Saint Louis and Bradley. They feasted on the bottom of the SEC to start out league play, going 6-1 with a win over Arkansas.

But since then, Auburn had lost five out of six games, including losses to Texas A&M twice and West Virginia. The good news is that they haven’t lost to one not at least on the bubble, including recently blowing out Missouri by 33 points at home.

The concern is that’s the best win for the Tigers to this point, with an 8-9 overall record against Quad 1 and 2 opponents. What’s keeping them in good shape is that they don’t have a bad loss (outside of a road defeat at Georgia) to this point and with a top-40 NET ranking. But they have two road games and a home battle versus Tennessee to end the regular season. If they struggle down the stretch, Auburn could be closer to the bubble than the metrics might suggest.
