A month from now, we will likely know the final 16 teams who will battle it out for the NCAA Basketball tournament. As the season winds down and we approach the final week of February there were still some fantastic individual performances that need to be recognized in this week’s Busting Brackets Player of the Week. There are not too many more of these articles to come this year and as the season winds down there are some players who are taking their game to the next level.

There were two winners again this week, one for the mid-major leagues and one in the power six leagues. The mid-major side had a ton of huge performances that didn’t win but I do still want to recognize those players. Cam Shelton from LMU had a huge bounce back after the Lions got absolutely blasted by Gonzaga. In a win over Pepperdine, he did score 40 points and led his team to a win. Atin Wright from Cal State Northridge scored 42 points this week and Jr Clay from Tennessee State also scored 40 points. Those players were all runners-up in the mid-majors this week and you will see why soon.

The Power six level was a lot more cut and dry this week and one player showed up in a big way. The player set records and also kept his team’s NCAA tournament hopes alive. The power six player has won the award before and is likely going to win some other hardware as the year comes to a close. Let’s put a name to these players and give them their due. The winners are announced below.
