It’s been an interesting year in SEC Basketball this season. Alabama has had a season for the ages in good ways on the floor and nightmarish ways off of it. Texas A&M defied all expectations and left no doubt about its NCAA Tournament status. Tennessee started strong but offensive woes and injuries plagued them late. Vanderbilt and Missouri have played the role as conference troll by pulling off upsets against the league’s best teams.

There are a ton of storylines and teams with trajectories going in different directions. Kentucky, for example, was a team that looked like an all-time Lexington disappointment after losses to South Carolina at home and Georgia on the road. Since then, they have reeled off multiple wins against Tennessee, blown out Auburn, beat Texas A&M at home and Arkansas on the road, and are now in a cozy spot to make the Big Dance and make some noise in the SEC Tournament. Speaking of Arkansas, they went from pre-season SEC favorite to finishing the regular season under .500 in league play.

Covering this conference this season has been a whirlwind and the tournament seems to provide exceptional drama every season. Let’s dive right in and break down who the favorites are, players to watch, sleepers who are ready to crash the party (and potentially become bid thieves) as well as answer some bracketology questions this league’s tournament may pose.
