When it comes to Championship Week, the two days that have the biggest effect in Bracketology are Wednesday and Thursday. That’s when all of the bubble teams play and have opportunities to move either up or down on the bubble.

There were several teams that played on Wednesday that had the chance to make a statement and most of them did that in a positive one. The one outlier was the Wisconsin Badgers, who lost in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament to Ohio State. They were already on the cutline heading into the day and now will have to wait a few days without any way to change their Bracketology standing.

Here’s a look at the other teams who were “winners” on Wednesday and whether or not they may need to improve their standing more.

North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels are “winners” simply because their season stayed alive. They took on Boston College in the second round of the ACC Tournament and won handily, 85-61. And making it more impressive is that the Eagles had Quentin Post playing in the game. But that didn’t matter, as UNC blew them out early and often.

Star big man Armando Bacot did roll his ankle yet again but returned to the game in the second half and was able to rest. This was a Quad 3 win so it does nothing for the resume but a bigger opportunity comes on Thursday, a Quad 1 matchup with Virginia. A win might not push them over to the right side of the bubble but they did get the win to even get the chance.
