By Joey Loose
We are on the precipice of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, with just a few last conference championship games awaiting on Selection Sunday. There have been thousands of college basketball games played this season with all kinds of moments, players, and mayhem standing out this season. After all the surprises and disappointments of the season, we’re three weeks away from finding out who the national champion will be and who is making this March unforgettable.
We’re not quite into the Big Dance yet, though there’s already a decently firm grasp on who will make the field of 68 teams. One of the most exciting parts of the NCAA Tournament is the upsets that will take place in the coming weeks. Even if a team has a magnificent regular season, one poor performance can end their season in the blink of an eye. It’s much more unforgiving than in the regular season, where a poor showing rarely moves the needle to a measureable degree.
Despite the NCAA Tournament field being announced today, we’re still taking time to update the Top 25 rankings, knowing full well that these teams will all be in the field of 68 and see their seasons continue in the coming days. The last week has consisted solely of conference tournaments and we’ll talk a bit about what each team has done in those postseasons and where they stand with the Big Dance beginning next week. Let’s just get right into the rankings.
