The Musketeers have advanced past the first round of the NCAA Tournament, so what’s next on the 2023 Xavier March Madness schedule?
No. 3 seed Xavier got all they could handle from No. 14 seed Kennesaw State. The Musketeers fought back from being down 13 and held off a late challenge by the Owls to win 72-67. That will send them on to their next game in the Round of 32.
So what’s next for the Musketeers in their quest for the first NCAA Tournament championship in program history? A potentially difficult game with a gritty ACC foe is what’s coming in Round 2.
2023 Xavier March Madness schedule: Who will the Musketeers play in Round 2?
The Xavier Musketeers will move on to Round 2 and take on the Pitt Panthers, who reached the second round by taking down Iowa State out of the Big 12, 59-41.
Pitt is a No. 11 seed in the tournament and has not advanced to the Sweet 16 since 2009. They have only reached the Final Four once in program history (1941), and only have three trips to the Elite 8.
The Panthers are one of the best defensive teams in the Midwest Regional bracket, so Xavier will need to be ready for a potentially low-scoring game.
2023 Xavier March Madness schedule: When and where is Round 2 being played?
Round 2 for the Xavier Musketeers will remain at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. There are some tickets still available.
