FDU vs FAU NCAA Tournament Round 2: How to watch, odds and predictions for March Madness

Sunday’s NCAA Tournament Round 2 action will feature a couple of unlikely entrants vying for a spot in the Sweet 16 when we see FDU vs FAU take the court. 

The second round of the NCAA Tournament will feature two teams who most didn’t figure to be in the mix for a Sweet 16 berth, but Fairleigh Dickinson and Florida Atlantic had other ideas. FDU vs FAU could prove to be one of the best games of the second round.

The 16th-seeded FDU Knights and 9th-seeded FAU Owls are facing off for the first time, and what better place for an initial meeting than with a Sweet 16 spot on the line.

This is FAU’s second appearance in the NCAA Tournament with their only other trip coming in 2002 when they were eliminated in the first round. FDU is entering the Big Dance for the seventh time in school history but also had never advanced past the first round until this year.

All of the NCAA Men’s Tournament games will be broadcast on the CBS family of networks this year, as well as TNT, TBS and TruTV.

FDU vs FAU will the sixth game of the Sunday slate and will be played at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Per odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook, the Owls are a 14.5-point favorite against the Knights, with an over/under in the game of 150. Moneyline on the Owls is -1100, and currently sits at +680 on the Knights.

FAU was far better ATS this season (23-10-0) than FDU (15-19-0). The Owls also have a 4-1 record ATS when the spread is larger than 13.5 points. This bodes well for bettors looking to follow the trends.

FDU showed they can play defense against Purdue, but FAU is a much smaller, quicker team, so there may be an abundance of points on both sides.

In a game featuring two teams who weren’t supposed to get this far, you have to look at the records and trends…and then throw them out.

Both teams are going to be playing on high emotion and adrenaline, and while this is probably looking like an FAU win, the 14.5-point spread should be a caution flag. FDU will keep it closer than expected.
