When the NCAA Tournament resumes on Thursday, we will be playing the Sweet 16 games and in just two more wins over the next weekend there will be a final four.  Gonzaga Basketball once again is going to be part of the festivities after a come-from-behind win over the TCU Horned Frogs in the late game on Sunday night.

Gonzaga started slow and didn’t shoot the ball very well in the first half which found them facing a deficit heading into halftime.  After halftime, the Bulldogs came out and established themselves on the defensive end which led to transition baskets and open threes.  As we all have seen before Gonzaga can get separation fast when they get out in transition.

Don’t take anything away from TCU they came out and were extremely physical with the Bulldogs and gave them a game from the start.  The Bulldogs were the stronger team because they made more shots and just proved to be a little too much for the Horned Frogs.  What would the NCAA tournament be like without Gonzaga in the second weekend?  We are going to have to wait for another year to find that out.  The Bulldogs head back to Spokane for the week and get ready to prepare for a meeting with UCLA in the Sweet 16.

There are a lot of other takeaways aside from the obvious things for Gonzaga as well.  These takeaways are going to be things to watch for going forward and they are also huge storylines that are going to be talked about the next time Gonzaga takes the court in Vegas on Thursday night.   Just remember two more wins until the Bulldogs get to play in Houston for the final four where a potential rematch with the Alabama Crimson Tide looms.
