Georgetown Hoyas
There’s been a coaching change at Georgetown, with Ed Cooley moving over from Providence to the Hoyas to replace Patrick Ewing. That’s likely to create an entire roster change, particually in a frontcourt that was fairly weak overall. Coach Cooley will want to upgrade from Qudus Wahab and Ryan Mutombo at the center position, which was a major weakpoint of the roster.
In order to compete in the Big East these days, you need to have a center that can be a double-digit scorer. Hugley is one of the best available in the portal and would help the Hoyas have an instant impact in the league.
Indiana Hoosiers
There’s a new development with the Hoosiers, as 5th-year senior guard Xavier Johnson will be petioning for another year of eligibilty after suffering a season-ending foot injury before the start of Big Ten play. If that’s approved, that would be a teammate that Hugley has familiarity with back during his days at Pittsburgh.
Assuming those two are on good terms, Indiana would be an actual legit match for the former Panther. Star big man Trayce Jackson-Davis is going pro, while starting forward Race Thompson has no more eligibility left. That leaves forward Malik Reneau as the lone rotation frontcourt player coming back so expect the Hoosiers to use the portal for a big. Maybe Hugley and Johnson can reunite at Indiana?
