UConn Basketball: 3 keys to beating Arkansas Razorbacks in Sweet 16 matchup
UConn should have a big advantage on the glass
The last thing UConn needs to do to ensure that the Huskies make an appearance in the Elite Eight is to do something they have been good at all year long, winning the battle of the boards, more specifically the offensive ones. The Huskies are one of the best rebounding teams in the country and rank 2nd in the country in offensive rebounding percentage at 38.8%.
They pulled down just under 39 rebounds per game which is the 13th-best number in the sport, which they accomplish by having their top-six rebounders grab 3.8 per game. UConn is equally as good at both ends of the boards, at 71st in the nation in defensive rebounds per game and 6th in offensive boards and a rebounding margin of 9.3 the Huskies are a menace on the boards and should have an advantage over Arkansas.
The Hogs have a rebounding margin of 2.3, but have been better during the tournament with a +16 edge in their two games and will need to keep up that work in order to hang with the Huskies.
That will be easier said than done against the Huskies who are a much better squad at gang rebounding and have the best rebounder on the floor. If UConn wins the battle of the boards they should be one win away from a Final Four.
