Want to bet against dynamic Kansas State point guard Markquis Nowell? It’s going to cost you.

If not your money, than the New York-born Human Grit Factory is going to take your dignity.

Ahead of Nowell’s Wildcats embarking on their quest to deliver 40 minutes of hell to the Owls in Kansas State vs. Florida Atlantic at Madison Square Garden with a berth in the Final Four on the line, he encountered one well-known bettor — Marco Piemonte of betr’s sports betting podcast “100x Club” — who put his cash on the underdog No. 9 seeds.

If you thought Nowell was going to let this slight slide just because he was hours away from tipoff in the biggest game of his life, you don’t know Nowell. This is the same guy who orchestrated a no-look (potential fake argument-based?) alley-oop to Keyontae Johnson to break a tie in a 92-92 regional semifinal in overtime. This is the same guy who, when asked if he told MSU alum Mateen Cleaves to “watch this” courtside before executing that play, giggled in his chair and said, “I’ve got to stop talking.”

Author’s Note: He did not stop talking.

Kansas State vs. Florida Atlantic: Markquis Nowell wants bettor to lose his money

If it were up to Nowell, this man would be hosting something called the “10x Club” Podcast by end of day.

It’s not entirely up to Nowell who advances, but he’s not your typical March Madness Kemba Candidate. Sure, he can take over a game with his expert bucket-getting, but his whole thing is making his teammates better in subtle ways most of us can’t see. If he’s really humming, that means Johnson and Ish Massoud and Desi Sills are, too.

Early on in Saturday’s clash, the FAU Owls look well-prepared for Kansas State’s challenge. Nowell, who shrugged off a serious-looking ankle injury to continue dominating well into the night on Thursday, has work to do to quiet the crowd (and the doubters on the betting market).

By the end of the night, he’d love to have some f’ing money of his own, as well as a trip to Houston.
