One player that recently entered the NCAA Basketball transfer portal is Ed “EJ” Jarvis, who had a breakout season as a senior for Yale. He was third on the team in scoring at 11.3 ppg, while leading them with 5.5 rpg. The 6’8 forward from Washington, DC had 15 games in double figure scoring, including a career-high 34 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Cornell.

And even though its in a smaller sample size, Jarvis also shot 41% from three-point range on 32 attempts. With a large role in the offense, he could have a big impact elsewhere. We know now it’s down to one of eight options after limited his list of suitors.

Here’s a look at how he’s fit at each of them and determining which team makes the most sense.

8. Cal Bears

After winning just three total games this season, Cal has parted ways with head coach Mark Fox. Reportedly, they could be hiring Mark Madsen from Utah Valley. That would be a nice move on their end but it wouldn’t make things better from a roster standpoint. Outside of Devin Askew, there isn’t much talent to work with and while Jarvis would certainly have a large role with the Bears but the odds of winning much would be next to zero, even with an upgrade on the sidelines.

7. Georgetown Hoyas

The Hoyas also has a coaching change, with Ed Cooley joining the program from Providence. There’s already some roster turnover, with Primo Spears and Brandon Murray transferring out. Expect more to occur in the frontcourt, as Akok Akok is the lone true power forward they have. The issue here is that Jarvis wouldn’t be the alone player joining Georgetown and he should wait to see who else comes becomes there’s a possibility that Cooley brings in guys that buries him on the bench.
