Kansas State Wildcats

It’s been an amazing season for Kansas State and first-year head coach Jerome Tang. They went to the Elite 8 on the strength of duo stars, Markquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson. Nowell, who just broke the NCAA Tournament record of 19 assists, has no eligibility left. And with Desi Sills also having to leave, there’s a gaping hole on the perimeter for the team.

Nowell did so much for the Wildcats that it’s going to take two different players to help replace his production. From the scoring department, Love can do that and be a lead guard. He either could play next to Cam Carter or by bringing in Love, can have Carter be the ideal 6th man.

There’s also Coach Tang, who as an assistant at Baylor, played a big role in the development and stardom of several guards, including a few “gunners” similar to Love. Seeing how Nowell broke out as an NCAA Basketball star should make Kansas State very appealing for transfer guards on the portal who also want a green light, as long as they consistently deliver.

It could be a great spot for Love, who would get to play in the Big 12 and remain in the national spotlight. It would be a big splash for Kansas State, who can send a statement that not only are they here to stay, but also to other transfer targets that they’re the place to be.
