San Diego State Aztecs

The Aztecs have made its first-ever Final Four appearance, thanks to a bunch of veterans and an elite defense, led by center Nathan Mensah. He’s leaving after this season, along with Jaedon Ledee in the frontcourt. There’s not a lot of depth outside of them, outside of redshirt freshman, Demarshay Johnson and incoming freshman forward, Miles Heide.

San Diego State is in the Mountain West across the country, which may not be ultra alluring for an ACC guy from North Carolina. But the program is at an all-time high and the style and scheme the Aztecs have is similar to Virginia’s so it wouldn’t be much of a transition process for the big man at all.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

While UNC and NC State doesn’t make great sense if Shedrick wants to be a starter but one other local ACC program that could is Wake Forest. They just lost Davion Bradford to the transfer portal and have just Matthew Marsh and Bobi Klintman, two capable scorers but not great interior defenders.

The Demon Deacons were a great offense but below average defense as a team last season, which was partly why they missed out on the NCAA Tournament. Having an interior defender like Shedrick would improve that area and they still will have plenty of scoring elsewhere to balance things out.
