The NCAA Basketball transfer portal went completely crazy on Monday, with several quality players opting to enter. One of them was TJ Bamba, a 6’5 shooting guard from the Bronx, New York that played the past three seasons at Washington State.

The development for Bamba has slowly climbed in each of the last three seasons. He started out exclusively as a bench player as a freshman, before splitting time between that and being a starter as a sophomore. But this past season, the shooting guard had his breakout campaign.

Overall, Bamba led the Cougars with 15.8 ppg, shooting 43% from the field and 37% from three-point range. He was in double figures for 24 of 31 games, including five games of at least 20 points. One of them was a career-high effort of 36 points on 13/20 shooting from the field in a road win at Washington. He also ended the season with six straight games with at least 15 points.

Bamba was one of the best scorers in the Pac-12 this past season but flew under the radar on a Washington State team that was around .500 overall. Now, he enters the transfer portal, looking for a new home. He also is planning to enter the NBA Draft process where there’s a chance for him to stay around, given his good size and scoring ability for a guard.

But assuming he does remain in NCAA Basketball, look for Bamba to have plenty of interest. Here’s a look at eight programs that could make sense for his services.
