NCAA Basketball: 8 teams that should target Washington State transfer TJ Bamba
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Irish have hired Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry to lead their program and they should remain an offensively-friendly program. The roster is completely bare, with 7 of the top 8 players having graduated or transferred out. There’s plenty of available playing time and Bamba could come in and be a focal point of the offense.
Geography likely won’t mean much to Bamba since he’s from the east coast and played on the west coast. So why not check all the boxes and be in the midwest for a year? It’d be a much different offense for him than the one at Washington State and could turn him into a star in the ACC.
Oregon Ducks
If Bamba wanted to stay out west and in the Pac-12, Oregon could be a legit fit. They’re losing Will Richardson, the lead guard of the offense, along with Jermaine Couisnard. The team is adding a pair of five-star freshmen in Mookie Cook and Kwame Evans.
If the Ducks aren’t able to get Bronny James this offseason, look for them to look for another scoring guard that’s capable of being a leading option. The familiarity with the conference could be a plus here and Oregon may not get some other transfer targets from the east coast. Bamba could be a reasonable fit.
