Illinois Fighting Illini

The Fighting Illini lost both of its point guards on the roster in Skyy Clark and Jayden Epps. The strategy of using freshmen didn’t work compared to the veterans in the season prior. Baldwin has 80 career starts and has been in the postseason so he can be that experienced presence which is what the Big Ten program needs.

Illinois can find offense elsewhere in the portal but the biggest need for them is a leader and a bulldog that’ll mesh well with head coach Brad Underwood. Baldwin is just about perfect for him and would have a giant role as the lead guard for the program.

Maryland Terrapins

Technically, UMBC would be the hometown option for Baldwin. But realistically, there are still multiple power conference programs that could use the former Ram. One is Maryland, which under newer head coach, Kevin Willard, has been trying to land plenty of talent from the DMV area, which Baldwin is.

After losing Don Carey (graduation) and Hakim Hart (transfer portal), the Terrapins could use some backcourt help. They are bringing back Jahmir Young but he’s capable of playing off the ball if Baldwin were to come. That would be a quality backcourt duo on both ends and one of the best in the Big Ten.
