Villanova Wildcats

There’s another former A-10 head coach that could be in play for Baldwin, one that really needs a point guard. Former Fordham head coach Kyle Neptune struggled in his first season at Villanova, in large part due to not having a true lead guard to run the offense while Justin Moore was out with an injury.

Angelo Brizzi has already transferred to Davidson, while Mark Armstrong had more downs than ups running point. Baldwin can come in and right the ship in year two and get the Wildcats back into contention in the Big East. And for the player, he’d be getting plenty of minutes and a leading role in a nationally recognized program.

Virginia Cavaliers

The Cavaliers are going to go from one of the oldest teams in NCAA Basketball to one of the younger ones. Guard Kihei Clark finally is moving on after losing eligibility, while Reece Beekman has entered the NBA Draft process and could either stay or go. Even if he were to come back, he and Baldwin would make a nice backcourt pair.

VCU and Virginia are extremely similar in terms of style and pace so if Baldwin is comfortable with that, it’s truly the perfect option for him. And he’d have a major coaching upgrade in Tony Bennett with the Cavaliers. Baldwin would instantly be one of the top point guards in the ACC and in a very good spot to get back to the NCAA Tournament.
