FAU guard Brandon Weatherspoon has been a key part of the Owls’ run in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, but his acting job in the Final Four game against San Diego State deserves its own award.

Frustration in sports can boil over, especially when you’re dealing with ultra-competitive young men in one of the most important games of the year.

That’s why it was only slightly surprising to see a little after-the-whistle activity going on in the Final Four game between FAU and San Diego State.

The Owls controlled most of the first half and were pulling away even further in the second half when Aztecs’ forward Micah Parrish let a little frustration boil over and gave Brandon Weatherspoon a little nudge to the midsection.

Mind you, this wasn’t The Rock’s “People’s Elbow” or Dusty Rhodes’ “Bionic Elbow”. It didn’t even measure up to a weak Shane McMahon elbow drop. More like a little “get out of my bubble” notice to Weatherspoon.

However, the Owls’ guard decided it was time to impress the Academy and make a move for his Oscar.

Of course, Twitter went to work.

I guess you can’t please all the judges. As for us, we’ll give props to Weatherspoon for the acting job, but it looked like he needed to be fed his line a little too much.

More feeling, Brandon. More feeling.
