Coach Mark Few has had plenty of success with frontcourt players in the 20+ years with the Bulldogs. The latest is Drew Timme, who in four years, has become not only the all-time leading scorer in program history but also one of the biggest stars in all of NCAA Basketball.

Timme finished his career in the Elite 8 a week ago and has said he’s moving on. The senior big man is one of several key pieces set to depart, as Julian Strawther, Rasir Bolton, and Hunter Sallis are set to leave as well. Expect the Bulldogs to be incredibly active in the transfer portal in the coming weeks.

The Dickinson-Gonzaga pairing makes a ton of sense for multiple reasons. The big man can simply take over for Timme and get his high usage rate and would dominate in the WCC and become a National Player of the Year candidate. He also would be on a team that could make a 9th straight Sweet 16 appearance, something that only Michigan (7) could match before its own streak ended this March.

The question is whether Dickinson would go from the Big Ten to the WCC, with blue blood programs expected to be in the mix. Gonzaga gets plenty of national attention but not compared to some of the others. If winning and getting back to the Big Dance is extremely important, maybe the Bulldogs would have a shot.
