Arkansas

What has made Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman one of the rising names in the world of college basketball is his ability to build talented rosters and he’s been a coach who hasn’t hesitated to build through the Transfer Portal. It’s what he did at Nevada, it’s what he’s done at Arkansas, and he’s certainly got space with the Razorbacks for a talent like Cryer.

First and foremost, freshmen guards Anthony Black and Nick Smith Jr. will potentially be gone, and there are still question marks surrounding starting guards Ricky Council IV and Davonte Davis. Regardless of who returns and who doesn’t, Cryer would give an instant boost to this offense. Arkansas ranked among the worst teams in the nation in 3-point shooting last year and he’d be a breath of fresh air on the offense.

Houston

The former high school star just outside Houston, Cryer was recruited hard by Kelvin Sampson and company before picking Baylor three years ago. While he wasn’t largely involved as a freshman, Cryer knocked out hometown Houston in the Final Four and has a championship ring already, but could he be the spark that leads the Cougars back to the Final Four next season?

All-American Marcus Sasser will not be back and it’s looking like Tramon Mark could be departing as well. The Cougars definitely need a boost in the backcourt, and Cryer’s addition would give them instant credibility. Sasser was the team’s best 3-point shooter and Cryer could in and play his role well, getting Houston among the preseason favorites for a second straight season, especially if they keep their talented frontcourt intact.
