NCAA Basketball: 10 teams that should target Baylor Bears transfer LJ Cryer

Texas Tech
New head coach Grant McCasland has his work cut out for him at Texas Tech, trying to turn the Red Raiders back into conference favorites after a disappointing campaign last year. There’s a lot of uncertainty with a new coaching staff and which players will stay or leave, but adding a point guard like Cryer would be an insanely good first step for McCasland.
Point guard De’Vion Harmon is still one of those question marks, though he had a pretty solid season after transferring from Oklahoma and Oregon. There are young pieces in the backcourt behind him, and Cryer’s addition would add veteran experience and much-needed scoring ability to this lineup. He’d be staying close to home in Texas and might just be the Red Raiders’ big star for his senior season.
West Virginia
Bob Huggins has leaned heavily on the Transfer Portal in recent years and will likely do so again this season. West Virginia had a much better season, with a slew of transfers playing a major role. Could he really land an in-conference rival like Cryer to helm the point?
Talented guards Erik Stevenson and Kedrian Johnson won’t be back next season and they aren’t the only important pieces that the Mountaineers will lose. The bottom line is that Cryer would become the face of West Virginia basketball next season and will likely lead a rotation filled with transfers that could compete again in a talented Big 12. They’ll treasure his outside shooting and be ecstatic by his contributions on both sides of the ball.
We’ve looked at ten early potential candidates for the services of LJ Cryer if he returns to college basketball next season; which school do you think will bring him aboard next year?
