Baylor Bears

Oral Roberts wasn’t the only team to lose a top guard on Monday. Baylor, who already lost Keyonte George to the NBA Draft, also will be without LJ Cryer. Assuming that Adam Flagler doesn’t come back for a 6th-year, the entire backcourt will be gone for the Bears.

As a native of Rockwell, Texas, Abmas could very well come back to the state. The program with the highest prestige and a recent national championship is Baylor and Coach Scott Drew. The Bears have five-star shooting guard Ja’Kobe Walter coming in but now lack a true point. They can bring in the former Golden Eagle star to run the offense and remain a viable Final Four threat for another year.

Gonzaga Bulldogs

Gonzaga brought in a former mid-major Conference Player of the Year last offseason in Malachi Smith from Chattanooga. He’s likely gone, along with sharpshooter Nolan Hickman. Look for the program to add a high-powered guard to pair with Nolan Hickman to give Gonzaga that vintage two-PG offense.

Playing at the WCC level is different than both the SEC and Big 12 and Abmas can continue scoring at a high level. And with Drew Timme now moving on, there’s plenty of usage available for the potential transfer to take. And few teams in NCAA Basketball have as much success as the Bulldogs in the Big Dance, now with eight straight Sweet 16s.
