Michigan Wolverines

It’s been a rough offseason for the Wolverines so far. Star big man and leading scorer Hunter Dickinson has entered the transfer portal while starting wings, Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard have entered the NBA Draft as projected first-round picks. There’s little scoring depth left over besides point guard Dug McDaniel, although the hope is that Alabama transfer Nimari Burnett could have an impact.

Burnett may have to sit out a season if the NCAA remains strict with the second transfer rule and Michigan also is looking at getting a waiver for Joey Baker for another year. So right now, the team could use Ingram and everything he’s capable of to improve the roster. Plus, the program won’t have to worry about getting him admitted.

North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels have undergone a roster change, with 3 of the 5 starters now out. One was scoring guard Caleb Love via the portal. Another was Leaky Black, a longtime starter for the past few years and was one of the top defenders in NCAA Basketball. However, he wasn’t any kind of offensive threat, which limited what star big man Armando Bacot could do.

Going from Black to Ingram would be an upgrade on offense but not much of a downgrade on defense. He’s also not a player that doesn’t need the ball too much, which means more for Bacot and returning guard, RJ Davis. He’d play for a blue blood and on a team with no expectations after missing the past NCAA Tournament.
