8. Auburn Tigers

The Tigers got one of the best big men in the transfer portal a year ago in Johni Broome. He’s been successful at the SEC level after coming over from Morehead State, averaging 14.2 ppg and 8.4 rpg. The thing is, he’s coming back for one more season. Also back is backup center, Dylan Cardwell and he’s one of the best frontcourt reserves in NCAA Basketball.

When you also consider four-star class of 2024 commit, Peyton Marshall, there’s little reason why this is a good option. Handlogten wouldn’t get minutes at Auburn next season unless someone left and would have to compete with Marshall the year after. Playing for Coach Bruce Pearl is a nice selling point but there’s not much else besides that.

7. Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers have been after a lot of frontcourt players so far after losing both Race Thompson and Trayce Jackson-Davis. They’ve already landed one player in Payton Sparks, who averaged around 13 ppg and 9.0 rpg last season at Ball State.

Like Handlogten, Sparks is a true center. So the Hoosiers would definitely have depth at the five-spot but would it be good to use it on both mid-major transfers? It would be a legit battle between them and if the Big Ten program landed someone else, the former Marshall big may find himself on the wrong side of the rotation.
