NCAA Basketball Recruiting: 4 teams that should target Creighton transfer Ryan Nembhard
Florida Gators
Florida was the first stop for Andrew Nembhard under Coach Mike White. But with a new head coach around in Todd Golden, maybe there could be a family reunion of sorts? He has a good history with scoring guards, including Jamaree Bouyea and Khalil Shabazz back at San Francisco.
The Gators need to make a big splash or two in the portal this offseason after losing star big man Colin Castleton and multiple guards, including Trey Bonham to the transfer portal. The roster is wide open at point guard for Nembhard to come in and be the lead guard while playing in the SEC as well.
Gonzaga Bulldogs
Due to the connections with Andrew, Gonzaga is going to be involved without question. It would be a similar story, a Nembhard leaving after two years to join one of the top NCAA Basketball programs of the past 10 years to make a run in the Big Dance.
There’s a need for another top guard for the Bulldogs after the struggles in the recent NCAA Tournament. Current starter, Nolan Hickman, scored 0 points in each of the last two games. And without Drew Timme around, the backcourt will have to take more of a lead role on offense. This could allow the younger Nembhard to come in and produce even more than his brother did and potentially similar results in the postseason.
