NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Ranking top 4 teams for Houston transfer Tramon Mark
2. Kansas State Wildcats
After the breakout season for first-year head coach Jerome Tang, look for Kansas State to be in the mix for a number of talented guards. That’s because they’re without its top two guys, Desi Sills and star guard Markquis Nowell. Although they have a pair of four-star commits in RJ Jones and Darrin Ames, they’ll be looking for at least one veteran guard to run the offense.
This is the option that could allow Mark to actually run the offense as a lead guard instead of being the third option. The only question would be how good Kansas State be if forward Keyontae Johnson doesn’t come back. Also, this would be the chance for the player to remain in the Big 12 and face off against his old team.
1. Texas A&M Aggies
Texas A&M will be losing a few key players from last season’s 25-win team, including Tyrece Radford and Dexter Dennis. The good news is that they’re bringing back star guard Wade Taylor, who averaged 16.3 ppg and 3.9 apg. They could use another guard alongside him and Mark would have a bigger role than he did at Houston.
The Aggies are also a closer fit to Houston than any of the other three teams. They play a tough and physical defense and head coach Buzz Williams is a proven winner in NCAA Basketball. It’d be a very easy transition overall for the transfer, especially since not too far away.
