4. Xavier Musketeers

The Musketeers are in need of a point guard after losing star Souley Boum. They have a top-100 playmaker coming in Trey Green but the program is going to prefer a veteran to run the offense. It’s a team that’s set to rebuild, as Colby Jones and Adam Kunkel are also gone.

The issue here for Armstong is that while it’s early, Xavier doesn’t have a ton of talent on its roster good enough to compete for a top spot in the Big East. Of course, Coach Sean Miller will add others in the coming weeks but at this time, the other programs look more appealing from a roster standpoint.

3. Providence Friars

The Friars lost Coach Ed Cooley to Georgetown but did replace him with Kim English from George Mason. He’s not only brought three rotation pieces with him that include big man Josh Oduro but they also kept key starters, Bryce Hopkins and Devin Carter.

The only missing piece to the roster is a quality point guard and someone like Armstrong would make them a preseason top-20 team without question. The concern here is that Coach English doesn’t have much of a history as a D-I coach and has struggled at the point guard position with the Patriots. Maybe having a true one in Armstrong would work out but there are two other coaches that are much safer options to work with.
