14. Camren Hunter – Central Arkansas to Butler
2022-23 season stats: 16.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.9 apg
The 6’3 guard was a former ASUN Rookie of the Year and expanded his all-around game this past season. He had a 20-point triple-double against North Alabama, along with a season-high 33 points on the road at Queens. Hunter shot just 31% from three-point range but was easily able to create his own offense and for others.
Butler has lost literally everyone from the backcourt this offseason so they’ll need plenty of help. But Hunter can play multiple positions depending on who else the team adds and that’s important from a roster-building standpoint. The guard likely will start and needs to play at an all-league level in order to keep the Bulldogs competitive in the Big East.
13. Keyon Menifield – Washington to Arkansas
2022-23 season stats: 10.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 3.1 apg
Menifield entered his freshman season with a reputation as a prolific scorer and did that early on in the season. He had a pair of 20+ point games against North Florida and Utah Tech and later on, had 27 points and seven assists in an overtime victory over Oregon. He’s one of the most explosive guards in the transfer portal and has three years left as well.
The backcourt for Arkansas has completely been revamped this week, adding both Tramon Mark and potentially Khalif Battle. But don’t overlook Menifield among the additions, even if he ends up being a 6th man off the bench.
